004. the reundertaker has instructions. [Aug. 28th, 2009|11:23 pm]
First: panicking helps no one.

Second: Unless you know what you are doing, do not attempt to engage the undead. Find somewhere to hide. Preferably somewhere above ground, and at least one story up. While my observations tell me that these zombies can climb stairs, they do find them quite difficult. This will make them easier to pick off. Do your best to barricade all windows, as they can, in fact, break glass.

Also, do remember to shut doors behind you.

Third: For those of you who do have some semblance of combat skills, be they physical or magical or otherwise, the surefire way for destroying the undead is decapitation or setting them alight. For those of you familiar with necromancy, voodoo, vodou or vodun, please exercise caution when using these powers. While it is very likely that you will be able to take out some of the undead, there is also a possibility it could backfire.

Four: Do not try to find your friends. Going out in the open, particularly during the night, while there are legions of the undead traipsing about is very unwise. Contact them via the network or by cell phone. Do not attempt to find them.

Five: Whatever you do, do not let them bite you.

003. the reundertaker looks to the next trimester. [Aug. 24th, 2009|04:44 pm]
Good luck to all of my students on their upcoming final, and please remember that unlike your previous assignments, you will need to restrict your references to those on the syllabus and the extended reading list.

I am currently in the process of drafting a preliminary reading list for next semester's subject Monsters in Contemporary Culture, and while I do not want to interupt anyone's finals preparations, if you would like to make suggestions of current literature featuring any of the monsters we have covered thus far this year, I would be most grateful.

002. the reundertaker is getting organised. [Jun. 2nd, 2009|07:53 pm]
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of the students who have chosen to sign up for my classes, particularly those of you who have chosen to continue on with me from last trimester.

Now that things have settled down and things are on a more even keel, I'd like to offer any third year (or enterprising second year) student who has a strong background in Literature a position as my teaching assistant. if you are interested, please comment to this post with an indication of your interest and forward a copy of your academic transcript and any other pertinent information to my office by the end of the week.

For those of you taking Zombies, Weres and Vampires, Ye Olde Worlde Theatre is showing Nosferatu on Sunday afternoon. While I was unable to include this film on the syllabus, it is on your recommended viewing list and I strongly encourage you all to attend. If there is enough interest, I will make arrangements to hire a hoverbus and make a field trip of it.

Yours,

George Fitzwilliam Murray, the Re-Undertaker.

Requesting any information in regards to the plague and it's treatment in the early 1600s.

[ locked to the elizabethan adventurers ]

From this moment I am establishing quarantine. Mister Green has contracted the plague, and I do not wish it to spread. Please keep your distance. Mister Walker, I would like you to also remain isolated to establish what precisely is making you ill.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. )
